Default Dye Lite Question

Hey I have some Dye Lite, I was wondering, if a blue neon light will lite up the dye or does it have to be a Black Light?

It needs to be a blacklight, but I think that you can put the blacklight somewhere where you can't see it, but the water does, then it will light up all the water and you can have a blue neon for the rest of the case.
I'm not sure about this, so somebody correct me if I'm wrong, because I was wonderin the same thing, heh
