Default Maze 4-1 GPU - Power management

Hi I currently have a Q-tec 550W PSU.

Though the value is high I've heard Q-tecs aren't actually as powerful as they say on the box, or something.

When I get my kit up I'll be running 2 * 120mm T/take thunderblade fans, 1 80mm fan, 2 HDDS, 2 CD-ROMS, A 9800XT (because it has the molex connected fan) and an MCP600.

I don't think is really pushing it, I mean it sounds like a fair amount as a list but when you think it isn't much more than the average case.

The question is though, could I power the Maze 4-1 GPU off this? That's only an 80W pelt and all the reviews I've seen haven't mentioned using a seperate pelt PSU with it, I only seem to see them with 200+W pelts.

Basically, will the Maze 4-1 GPU's pelt kill my PSU?

well

80watt pelt means its at ...6.6 amps. Whats the amparage on its 12v rail, listed on the PSU? Ive never heard of Q-tec and if its generic I would throw it out IMMEDIATLY. Even without the large draw of a pelt that thing will explode. Generics do that. Id say toss it, get an Antec 412 or bigger, and be done with it. Without the pelt thats more than enough so it *should* be able to handle the additional load of a pelt.

hope that helps.

Thing is it's not generic, it's sold all over the place and I've heard some very good reviews from it, but people seem to scorn them for reasons I'm not quite sure of.

On here, a review from bit-tech, it says for +12V it's 20A PEAK, 14A MAX. For -12 it's 1.0A PEAK, 0.5A MAX.
