Default Radiator Flow

Hi I've got two Chevvy heatercores I got from soulsend, but I have to mount them sideways to fit them in my custom housing. This means effectively the water is going either upwards or downwards, rather than in a U.

The question is, how would you have it? Would the water spread out better and give better cooling if I had the water going upwards, as it'd utilise the whole heatercore to find itself level

OR

Should I have the flow going downwards for some other reason, such as maybe it'd be easier for the pump if when it was pushing upwards it was just pushing through 1/2 ID tygon rather than through a complex mesh of heatercore?

Or doesn't it matter?
