I just wanted to let everyone know i successfully upgraded the fan on my snap 2200. ( referring to my earlier post at http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=13241 )
The unit takes a 60x60x15mm fan. I bought this one from a seller on ebay and he does have more of them. The fan is perfect. Very nice air draw and movement. The holes match up perfectly with the ones on the snap unit. The only issue is the replacement fan comes with a 4 pin connector but you can just rig it up off the power supply and then into the hard drive. You will see if you buy one. Very easy setup and no extra work needed. specs of new fan: Model Number KD1206PHB1-4-86 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) 21 Decibels (dBA) 37.5 Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) 4300 Pressure (inch-H20) .18 Connector 4-Pin Pass through Voltage 12v seller link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll..._BIN_Stores_IT enjoy!

At 37.5 dbA you should be able to hear it in the next room with the door closed.

I think they estimated high on that because it is really not that bad.

The Price is right with FREE Shipping.
But I don't like any thing making noise over 30dbA. At 21cfm is should cover heavy use.

yes thats what i figured. besides i leave my snap server in the basement so the noise is not really an issue for me. SO MUCH!!! nicer transfering at 15 mb internally than the 1-1.5 with the SNAP 2000 ![]()
