The OS is stored in flashram. Install the drives, then set back and watch all of the activity. After 10 min you will be able to connect and check on drive status. Or just wait till the disk led goes out.

Huh...I thought that the 4000 stored the OS on the disk. Learned something new today!

Absolutely correct, help is missing. Now i'm dealing with not seeing all the space - only 360 gb or so available out of 4 ea. 160 gb disks. I guess i need to upgrade to at least 3.xx. Helping hand anyone? Adaptec would rather take whole arm and maybe leg

version 3.4 didn't help much - SNAPpy reported 160gb disks as 120. Good people helped with 4.xx, will try tomorrow

Depends on which version of OS 3 you're using. 3.4.805 is the minimum to support disks larger than 137gb. If you're using 3.4.803 or so it won't show you all your space. Also, what RAID configuration are you running? 5?

If you cannot do it from the web interface then you probably need the Assist utility. If you haven't gotten it by the time i get home tonight i'll try to get a copy of it for you. IT's on the origonal CD's that came with the server. shane
