Default RedLine vs Purple Ice corrosion test

Has anyone done a corrosion test between redline and purple ice? I saw a corrosion test done on redline vs plain distilled water...

i was thinking about doin this being that i have always used redline, and just got a bottle of purple ice.

what do ya think?

I thought that both were intended to give you 0 corrosion

still, they should be fairly similar. It would be interesting though. maybe you should try differing concentrations to

just do it in 1oz increments, until you see the temps start to rise again

thats a whole different test... i was just gonna do corrosion testing with metals in a cup... with the 3 mixtures =)

i care more about longetivity and quietness than a degree or two in performance =)
but i might try that

hehe ok.

you should use some Al, and some Cu in it, thats more real world than just one piece of one sort of metal

yup .. that was my intent.. probably some brass to.. but that wouldnt matter...
i also wanted to get one EXTREMELY cathodic and one EXTREMELY anodic metal...
that would accelerate the corrosion.... but that would only show which was better.... and not how long they last

just go for the whole thing. CuSil, Silver, Cu, Al, Brass. You might be able to get some stuff free that way

Hook a battery or a wallwart 12v power supply to the two metals. This will speed up the reaction a 1000 fold.

HA... i didnt think of that one... but i ruled out that testing only because it just compares the performance...... i also want to be able to show how long it will last under fairly normal usage

but if it takes a couple of months, and you haven't seen any differance, then you'll need to speed it up
