The drive has failed in My snap 1100. I have another 1100 which is running ok, so i have taken that drive, connected it as a slave to a linux box hoping to copy the required os so i can build a new drive for the failed machine. BUT, the good drive is not detected under linux (ubuntu 5.0.4)
I tried this as it was suggested under another posting re upgrading.... My snap servers are running OS 4.0.860 Adaptec have told me as it is out of warranty - they cannot/wont help. Suggested I put in another drive then proceeded to tell me there was no way to put the OS on it so i am stuffed.......!! hope you can help. Any ideas? |

Did you set the jumpers correctly for your pc?
We normally use dd from the knoppix CD. Since you have a working 1100 drive. Drive to drive is the correct way. I will send you the instruction for using dd since the wiki section is off line.
