Default Snap 4500 & mail

Hi all,

I have inherited the responsibility of administering a Snap server 4500 running Guardian OS 3.2.026.

There are several daily jobs that consume several GB of space and I would like to setup a cronjob to send me a daily email. The email would report the available free space, so that I do not need to ssh into the system each day.

My problem is that the box does not have 'sendmail'.

Does this system use some other mail client? I have accessed the web interface and can send a test message. So I know the SMTP interface is working.

Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to send email from the command line?

Thanks,
john7a8

The Guardian OS is built on Gentoo Linux. You way want to look there. Are you using the current OS (v4.2)? It maybe an upated feature.

Sorry I can't help you more. I do not have mine working at the time. Will proably be several weeks, due to some other events.

FreeNAS might be something worth trying to look at. I am NOT a fan of Gentoo linux. The package managment is sloppy. apt-get is the only way to roll.

David has the 4500 so he's the only one who can experiment. BUT I think it might be doable. But probably not with the guardian OS itself.
