SNAP1100 ( thinks it is a 4000 )

Hello to you all, I'm new to the forum and have looked at may posts,
I have a Snap server 1100 ( Quantum ), Through trying some things I made it think it is a 4000, What I would like advise on is the following.
The current HDD is 40GB and has had some problems, although it reports that it has no errors now, I have set the 1100 to mirror to an 80GB disk it shows the same files as on the 40GB disk, If I take the Primary 40GB disk out and set the mirrord 80GB disk to Primary disk, how do I get it to work ? I get the system light and Disk light polling together and the link on solid and the net light flashing.

My next part:
Model Software Hardware Server # BIOS
4000 series 3.4.772 (UK) 2.0.2 168573 3.4.758

Above is the current information all correct except for the model it is an 1100. In order to support bigger disk size will I need a newer software version, some posts seem to indicate that 3.4.805 will do?
will the 1100 support V4.xxx?
If the unit will support the newest version anyone know where I can obtain a copy, I have mailed Adaptec, but they will not even help me out with the version the unit came with, well thats not strictly true they will help but for a cost.
thanks in anticipation for help

v3.4.805 should do you... v4.x.x will work, but it is a memory hog.

This is a sequence waiting for OS download, once it starts it changes to 1 x 2 pattern. The same problem when you change a 1000 to a 2000 model.

The 1100 uses a different hex (os) code than a 4000. Once you power it down, you may have lost the option to change it back.

You may have a new paper weight.

I had this a few times, then realised its was when the HDD was not set to master
