Sanp Server 4200 and large files (over 2GB)

Server Type GuardianOS
Model 4200
OS Version 4.4.049 SP2
BIOS Version 3B02
Service Pack SP2
Drives 4) 160GB drives in raid5

Is there a 2GB limit on filesize on the snap servers? When trying to copy large files the copy seems to crap out on files over 2GB. Did I miss a setting? Is it not formatted correctly?

Thanks!!!

Depends on what os you are using.

NFS = 2^63power bytes - limited to 2 TB by our file system
Apple = 2GB
Novell = 2GB
Windows CIFS/SMB (NT-SMBs disabled) = 4GB
Windows CIFS/SMB (NT-SMBs enabled) = 2^63power bytes - limited to 2 TB by our file system

For Guardian OS:
NFS 2^63power
Apple 2GB
Windows CIFS/SMB = 2^63power

Can you change it on the fly? Or would I have to reformat the array?

The setting are pretty much set. In most cases it restriced on the pc platform sending the file. Like Apple is 2gig, unless less unix os. Or it could be an application restriction.

We are connecting via ftp from explorer, from a windows XP workstation. We are tring to archive some Notes archive files. Those files can get up to 10GB.

If your xp file structure is not NTSF you will have that restriction. Try FileZilla and see if it handles it any better.
