Looks like somebody got a great no a SUPER deal. Every tired selling the unit(s) with all sleds, but without the drives? And offer the option of buying a drive with the new GOS as a separate buying option?

Damn phoenix... thats too bad you had to let those go so cheap. Hell the drives in that snap were probobly worth more than what the whole unit sold for.

As a matter of fact, the drives cost me $15 more than the server sold for. Yes, I took a HUGE loss on that sale. |

Have you installed the new GOS 5.0.133 ? Did they change the graphics to reflect the new owners?
Does it look the same as the GOS 5.0.125 ? Interesting they decided not to patch the GOS 5.0.125. Instead, they did a whole new full GOS 5.0.133 releases. Does the new GOS differ from the 5.0.125 in anyway? bitor |

Yeah Apologies Len... I like mine too... even my 205m with its noisy-ass fans, makes my 2 & 3 year old kidlets scared of my PC area when it is on... I just get antsy when the 400 don't play ball... I took it to a mates place so he could "borrow" it, but I find that they do not travel well, kind of like the Snap18000 which is a notorious traveler... You will like how I found it... I took it from a Pile of boxes as they guy could not get it to work he was throwing it... and said I could take it... (we are talking about a PM400M 640GB 4-5k new), I was going to simply use what I could from it, drives & RAM but I couldn't do that until I made sure it would not work... After a bunch on network manipulation running the discovery tool and stuffing around downloading pdf's, changing IP's and subnets etc at home, I finally gained access to it and it went well from there until I took it for a drive... It now has 500gb drives but I have put the original disk0 160gb back in to recopy the OS over as I do not have the rebuild CD... The real question is; Because Windows SAK sucks should I just use it as a PC or persist with it? Last edited by MaddMatt; 08-09-2008 at 02:28 PM. |

I have it but I haven't installed it yet. ps What I'd like to see is an enterprising young man get GOS patched to run on non snap boxes. |

Yeah, I usually stay one or two operating systems behind. Seems like software companies release software that has bugs in them way to often or etc. Nobody here has responded to my question concerning the GOS 5.0.133, so I guess nobody has installed it here.
I seriously doubt that anybody would try/be able "patch" the GOS. But if they can then that's great. I would think the first step would be how to decompress the large GOS file. That would be a great starting point. bitor |

Good to know there is no problems with it. Maybe I'll install the full version of it soon. Did they change the graphics to reflect the new owners? Can you still get root "SU" access via telnet? Any cons to this new OS?
