I am trying to upgrade my 2x500gb snap 210 running 5.0.133 sp1 os with 2x1.5tb drives. I am able to get the 1.5tb drive to boot, but it still shows 500gb. I am not able to issue the co de format 10000 /reinit command from the debug screen. It does not recognize the command. Does anyone know how to resize the drive? I used the copy HD to HD with Knoppix procedure.
Thanks in advance, Brian |

The cmd you posted is for the SnapOS not GOS. And the procedure is for SnapOS too. If you did drive to drive it did not change any ref to size. Have you removed all of your shares and re-configured the unit? I'm surprised it worked (SnapOS) . I would revolk the recovery console and do a Clean Install. That way all should be like new.
Also use the search feature, these was a jumper that had to be changed on one unit for it take a different HD. may have been on the 410.

These things have a mind of their own. The 1st new 1.5tb drive booted and had only the 486gig sda4 partition. I put in the second new drive and both synced except that the second drive never had the sdb4 partition created. I was able to somehow reboot and get in recovery console and did a fresh reload. I was hoping that the sd#4 partition would be recreated with the correct size, but instead sda4 is gone. I have now two disks that come up in the gui with unknown for the size.
Any ideas out there? Freenas is looking very tempting. I was thinking about trying to downgrade GOS v4.2 and see if I have any better luck. Thanks |

I think there is a 1T limit on these. One user tried the 1.5T and did not work but the 1T did. I went through a lot of the GOS threads yesterday and this came out.

blue68f100 I just confirmed with a 1 tb drive and that is the issue. Has anyone figured out a way around this? I know that overland is selling a 2x2tb snap 210.
If a newer version of the GOS allows for greater than 1tb drives, it is still not worth it. $600 for the support to get the software and $250 for the drives. You can buy a new 4tb 210 for under $950 and you get 3 years of hardware and software support. Go figure. |

Max8 you were right it is 2 years, but it is still a better deal to buy a new one then to go through the cost of the upgrades.
