If you think about it, how much is really in the cost of the materials? Maybe 5 bux worth of copper, 3 bux for the acrylic top and screws, 10 cent for the rubber gasket?
Most of the money goes to the sweat used to make it(doesnt a machine make it?). If I had a mill, I would make my own, but alas, just as I dont have a tv building factory, I have to buy those too.... |

it's more than $5 for the copper. $40 - $60 per block depending on options is about right imho. A good heatsink is nearing this cost, and that price is fairly competitive compared to other blocks. I wouldn't want to see a pricing war form between block companies, it will just force the smaller makers out fairly quickly

Im sure they can do better than that with the copper pricing, but the r&d is a valid arguement.
