I had the R-1000, tomorrow however, I will have the R-3603. McMaster is VERY VERY good about returns. I emailed them late last night, and when I woke up this morning around 11am EST (), they had already shipped out the R-3603 tubing for me. They're going to just let me mail the R-1000 back to them...

very good service.

Dtek Customs also sells 1/2" ID 11/16" OD R-3603 for $2.65 per foot. a good 50 cents more expensive than USplastic, but it'll still be cheaper if you only need 7 or less feet of tubing.

hmm, i'm not understanding your calculations. US plastics is $2.91 per foot of r-3603 tygon, 1/2"ID, 3/4"OD. dtekcustoms is $2.65 for the same thing. how is it cheaper at US plastics by $0.50?????

for dtek being cheaper, and being able to buy in any length, and also danny being a great guy, i don't see buying it from anywhere else. in fact, i'm going to purchase some soon, and some dye light.

Dtek's 3603 is 3/32 wall, I believe the stuff I quoted at 2.91 was 1/4 wall. Thicker walls = more expensive and tighter bending without kinking.

according to his site, each wall is 1/8, thereby giving a 1/4 total (remember, there are two walls) so 1/2" ID 3/4" OD. for it to be 1/4" wall on each side, would give 1" OD. so i am pretty sure they are the same thing.

taken from your link to USPlastics:
Quote:
Clear Tubing For Chemcials 1/2" I.D. 3/4" O.D. and 1/8" wall
i will email him and see if it is indeed 3/32, or 4/32. it doesn't really say, just says:
Quote:
Please choose 1/2"ID or 3/8"ID x 1/8" wall when ordering. The 3/8" Tygon will also stretch over 1/2" barbs

no, the 3/8" ID tubing has 1/8" thick walls, while the 1/2" ID tubing has 3/32" walls. ive already emailed him, and he confirmed it. he does charge a good 50 cents more than USplastic does for their 1/2" ID tubing with 3/32" thick walls, but again, unless you need more than 7 feet of tubing, it'll be cheaper to get it from Dtek. althogh id go for the 1/8" thick wall tubing (but the 3/32" will be fine if you dont have any tight bends).

questions:

I'm trying to order the r-3603 from usplastics.

When I add 1 unit to my cart and go to checkout it says only the price for what I'm gathering for 1 foot. It says that a unit is 10 feet, but it's not bringing it up as that. Do I put 10 units in the box? I'm afraid that they are going to charge me for 100 feet of the stuff.

Since I was having trouble there, and mcmasters sounds like they have good cs, i tryed finding it on their site. The only 3603 they had that I could find was in mm not inches. Am I looking in the wrong place?

10 units is 10ft.. Otherwise that would be some damned nice priced hose. And yes, I had the same problem with McMasters..

and how much does McMaster charge for shipping, anyone know? USPlastic's tubing is cheaper, but if McMaster charges less for shipping, it might actually be cheaper to get it from them......

GRRRR. i pay usplastics $10 bucks to ship some tubing, which ehh, who cares. so it was supposed to be delivered on monday which is yesterday (i ordered early last week). today is tuesday, so i check the tracking information, and it just left freakin texas. wth?????

it isn't usplastics' fault, it is UPS. i knew something would go wrong, i just hate UPS. fedex is much better. so being thoroughly ****ed, i hit detail, and the damn thing was going to the opposite side of the country, then a big paragraph stating that it was given wrong routing instructions, and is now making its way back.

sorry, just had to rant since i have all of my stuff seen below, just waiting to be installed

maze2 is the smaller one, other is a prototype p4 block from dtekcustoms

well, here is hoping it comes by the weekend.

Just got my tygon tubing from usplastic. For me it was ultra fast. Ordered yesterday, tygon tubing in my hands today all the way from Utah on ground shipping. I really hate UPS though, it's so random when things get delivered.

Cheap teflon tubing totally inert and has temp ranges way over what you possibily could ever need most teflon is like -230 to 400

Goto http://www.mscdirect.com/ in the top bar on webpage on the left side select mcs part number from drop down stick number in and search. only recomend this place because used to order from them for industrial supplies good prices and fast turn arround times.

mcs# 48702120, Teflon Tubing 1/2 x 9/16 Translucent $2.86

price good on may 27

The only problem is: if it's 1/2" ID and 9/16 OD, then the wall thickness is 1/32, which would kink VERY easily.

Forget about it.
