anyone know the tap size for those standard brass motherboard standoffs?
and more importantly where you can get one i'm pretty sure the smallest one at lowes was too big, i forget what size it was though. |

It depends, some have threads like "CDROM/Floppy screws", which are M3, I believe. Others are like "hard drive screws", which are 6-32, or possibly M4, I think they're interchangeable.
edit:4-40 is nearly identical to M3, but 6-32 is a bit smaller than M4--still close enough to work, in my experience. As always, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. ![]() relatively handy conversion table Last edited by Arcturius; 03-18-2003 at 06:49 PM. |

Yeah, seems to be two sizes (in the USA) the coarse 6-32 (case screw size) and a finer thread, not sure, but I'm thinking 6-40.
