Ah missed this post. Yes it is a good adhesive and the 4 regular bolts will do just fine once the stuff is dried. But you need real good clamping pressure while it dries. Something I didn't do the first time. The other 4 scres are definatly needed though as this stuff doesn't stick well to smooth plastics like acrylic. It is really just making a rubber gasket when used with acrylic.

I had to laught at not leaving room for the tube! , how many blocks have you made JD?! ...

can you make a new top with different outlets?, can you slope them slightly I mean?...

Why did'nt you mill a channel for an O~ring?...

It would have been fine if I used standard hose barbs, but the stubby pipes have a much larger OD. I didn't get the pipes untill after I made the block.

I have no O rings. And silicone is better to use than an O ring with acrylic. Keeps it from cracking.

Once I get home tonight I will hook up REV 3.0 and see what it will do. While it is running I will have time to work on my "good" water block.

Well this block isn't going to work the way it is. As I was leak testing it a few minutes ago I was watching the water enter the block and the water is not pushing on the pins. The block fills up with water and just flows over top of the pins. Maybe a stronger pump is needed as i only have a 170GPh pump. I got some plans to work around these issues. But this block is shelfed for a while. Got a new one in the works already. Look for a thread called "My Micro channel block".

Your nozzle was too big, just try it with a narrow slit instead the wide +.

I don't think the pump will handle it. It doesn't have much of a head pressure. I have to rework some sealing aswell. I don't have enough screws holding it together. The 4 worked fine on REV. 2.0 but this one has an extra 1/8" layer that isn't helping.

I am also going ot reduce the distance the water has to go to get ot the pins. all in good time though. looks like my window of block making has come to a halt for a while.

I'd mill off the 'blimps' that are'nt directly over the core and jet water just onto the core area ones. Don't give up altogether on this one JD!. It needs a jet though, so does your micro channel one (IMO! )...

Why don't you just mill a bunch of parallel slits, to dump the water straight in the milled out area?

I don't know what either one of you is talking about. The 1/4" spacer is to high. The water pressure isn't even getting to the pins.

why not just get rid of the nozzle? I'm not a fluid-dynamics major, or anything, but i think that you might have better luck without a center piece...........yes? no? maybe so?

I tested the nozzel before hand and it looked good. Squirted wter quite well. But removing it would leave me in the same spot. Just need a bigger pump. The one I have doesn't have much head pressure.

Yup, a bigger pump.

I looked at your original nozzle, and it's already pretty close to having an opening the same size as the barb.

I just remebered I got a 500gph beilge (sp?) pump. I might test it out with that being I don't have the cash to get a "real" pump. Something to do tonight.

I found my 500GPH pump but not all the fitting to make it work. Non the less I just tore the block apart and am going to do some modifications. Look for REV. 3.1 thread. probably will not happen till this weekend though.

I was thinking you've got to much backpressure, getting rid of excess pins and making it easier for water to to flow out/through the block would allow the jet to work better and get water 'down into' the pins. Does that make sense?...

What pump do you use JD?, what head has it got?...

Jaydee, have you tested rev1 and rev2?

There isn't much backpressure. Water flows just fine. This has a 1/4" x 1/2" channel diverting water to the outlets. But that same feature is not allowing the water to hit the pins. I am using a 170GPH Little Giant inline pump. It only rated to like 1 foot of head at 170gph.

Done and done. I made the pins bigger and they are .080" tall. I also mirrored the pattern on the acrylic top to increase flow a bit. This one looks coooool! Will put up some pics tonight.

here is the sneak peak at REV 4.0. Note the base and top is not finished. About 1/2" on both sides worth of pins will be milled down on the top and base. I am going to leave about 3/4" worth of pins in the center. these pics do not do it justice though. hard to get a good pic of them. these pins are twice the size of the REV 3.0 pins and the pin higth is also deeper I am a little of 1/16" deep in the 1/8" base.

Got a lot of work left to do on it. I am test running my micro channel block now after its revision with the channels milled into the top.
