Sorry I have been away with work, only to get back too find this thread.
http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=12556 Breach has a "reviewers" MAG model, designed to be dissasembled so a reviewer can take pictures of the jeweled bearings and motor. This model was NOT designed to be run in any system! You can tell if you have the model, as the motor cap will be white and clear. As best I know at this time, these pumps where only sent to D-TEK to be used for reviews and OEM sampling. Anyone that has one of these needs to remove it from there system ASAP Dave C-Systems Support |

On review of Breach's post, it seem's that he knows about "reviewer" model MAG's, and for some reason thinks he has a regular retail version.

Yes Bill,
D-TEK was in charge of getting and supplying reviewers at that time. I am affraid I do not recall if there was any external difference, but I suspect not, since the pumps where produced just for pictures. I suspect there has been a simple mix up, I understand D-TEK moved there shop a couple of times. There has only been a few models made with this modification, 60, I believe. I sent about 20 out myself, so that will account for some. **I can not believe it ran long enough for corrosion to form..... amazing! |

^Not externally.
The chances of anyone having one of these is VERY low, and until Breach gets back to me, I can not say what happened. If you did have one, I suspect it would already have failed. They are internally fused, so worse case is the pump stops or has very small leak, just as Breach experienced. |

All OEM and MAG MKII units have serial numbers and under writing logo's, we didn't feel DIY units warranted the expense at the time.

Well, that certainly explains a lot.
These ran for a couple of weeks before failing as I remember. After the first one failed I put the second one in after I reconfigured my loop, then discovered that it was no longer startting at computer power on as well. |

Dave,
I generally do not like to get into pissing matches in the forums but this is just getting a little to crappy for my taste and I was directed to this thread and for good reason. Excuses again being spewed and this time using our name with them in a public forum. I would like to set one thing straight before this gets out of hand in rumorville. There was NEVER supposed to be any review pumps sent to us PERIOD!! Nor have we ever requested or even heard of any of these so called picture only review pumps. We had enough problem getting what we ordered (and payed for) for already payed customers and distributors. Yet alone to ever send out any reviews. This is just completly funny this would even be mentioned. I would suggest you check you records a little better or better yet I will check mine and see why I paid full wholesale price for "review sample pumps" Maybe you have us confused with your other exclusive distributors? Point being no mixup at D-TEK. This is all on AVT and C-Systems. I am sorry Breach for the pump problems and I really do hope they make good on them and please be free to email me anytime if you need to discuss this further. |

Our records show we produced 60 reviewer models, out of which I can personally account for 20.
As to where the other units went, and how they got in public hands is not for me to comment on. It appears just as Breach discovered, a reviewer model would not run long. I have already PM'd him for production unit replacements. |

Bill,
I should have done the same, but I didn't. These pumps COULD have come directly from me, a year later it is hard to say. Reviewer models where a stupid idea, we should have known something like this could result. There will be no reviewer MarkII models, the reviewer can take the pumps apart and deal with resulting damage. |
