I have a Innovatek Dual 120MM Fan Radi that comes with an aluminum fan bracket already mounted. The only thing is that it's less than 1/2" off the radiator and I'm not sure if it's high enough to kill that dead spot on my fans.
How high should the fans be mounted away from the radiator to maximize it's efficiency? Also is there any special way or directions that it should be mounted or just the typical horizontal way? No one really posts anything about this so I just thought I'd ask. |

i've read on this site that the 1/4" found on the BPIs is enough
so 1/2" should be better however the PA160 has 2-3" of course that is also converting a 120mm fan to a 160mm rad... anyway, you should be ok if you are going to make your own, anything over 2-3" is overkill jman |

I don't think I'll make my own as the Innovatek one I have now has the shroud permanently mounted on from the factory. I would have to do a lot of metal bending in order to get it off. Thanks for the suggestion. |
