I have an Apple iMac G5, and when I try to copy files off the 4100 the copy speed is really slow.
On an older PowerMac 8600 (running OS 9), the same files copy much faster. If I turn on file sharing on the iMac, connect to it from the 8600, and then use the 8600 to copy the files from the 4100 to the iMac, they also copy much faster. Anyone know why the iMac with OS X takes so long to copy files when it's pulling them? This doesn't seem to happen all the time. There have been some days where the files copy at a pretty good clip, but today doesn't seem to be one of those days. Any settings I can change to make this work better? |

Is OSX indexing the files, shurlock? Try FTP client and see if it's any faster.
