Snap 2200 Help Please
I have a Snap Server 2200, currently with two 160GB drives set in RAID1, but due to the software limits it only shows them as approximately 128GB. I just recently upgraded from an 80GB drive so right now the drives have no data on them.
I have read in other posts that with the correct software/bios versions I could use these drives and even larger to their full potential. I have contacted Seagate, but have not gotten any replies. How do I get the updates so that I can use larger drives and what are the limits of the 2200? Thank you. Model: 2000 Series Software: 3.4.790 (US) Hardware: 2.0.4 Server #: 808xxx BIOS: 3.4.758 |

Re: Snap 2200 Help Please
Thank you. I checked their site and did not see any downloads even after I signed in. It appears you have to have a valid service agreement to get any kind of support from them.

Re: Snap 2200 Help Please
You use to beable to contact support via email and politely request the older v3 and they would send you a link so you could download it.

Re: Snap 2200 Help Please
Since I can not get the software upgrade needed from the vendor. Is there a way to install another operating system on the 2200 so that I can use larger drives with it?

Re: Snap 2200 Help Please
No one has done it. Some have found the files searching torrents.
There were a few that talked to the sales dept and asked the question "Why should I pay for support that ie EOL and you no longer support?" The sales gave out the link and access to the latest v4. This has only happened a couple of times. You could always find a newer one to up date your old one then sell it off.

Re: Snap 2200 Help Please
Thank you. I was able to find v3.4.805 using th torrents. I appreciate your patience with me. Now for a silly question. I have installed v3.4.805, what do I need to do so that it will see the drives as 160GB, I tried formatting and it still sees them as 128GB.

Re: Snap 2200 Help Please
Nevermind, I found the command "co de format 10000 /reinit" in a previous post and it worked great. Thank you for all of your help.
