Default Snap Disk 10 Appliance cable

Hi all,

I bought a Snap Server 4500 and a Snap Disk 10 but never received the cable that connects the two. Does anyone know where I can possibly get one from, or perhaps have one made up?

Cheers

Hold you mouth closed. Those cables go for around $200-$400 on ebay. The interface used between the snap and S10 is SATA even though it has a HD- 68 pin connector that is found on SCSI equipment.

Thanks for the prompt reply blue68f100,

Seems a bit steep doesn't it... Funny thing though, when I opened the Snap Server it had an LSI card in it, and isn't it a SCSI card though?

Cheers

There's two cards that fit the 4500. One is a SCSI for running a tape backup unit. This card is std on 4500's. There are 2 different slots types on the MB for expansion cards. The other slot is for the S10 expansion, (PCI-E and PCI-X I think, It been a long time since I have opened mine up). The SATA cards that Snap uses sells for ~$400 on ebay. You may get lucky and find one cheaper.

As far as the cable I'm going to pin it out this summer to see if a std SCSI card cable will work. Adaptec/Overland says NO but I don't trust them. They put a lot of info out to force you to buy from them.
